Standing by the French window of her plush apartment on the 24th floor, Reeta was sipping her ginger tea. Yes, ginger tea was all that she needed again to jump back to the real world. What had happened in last 24 hours? Reeta was numb, her head was pounding. Alcohol had done no good to […]

Rex stood there perplexed, looking down at the passed out woman who was turning into a nuisance with every passing minute. Maybe he had bitten on more than he can chew when he decided to rescue her from the beach. She seemed ungrateful and pretentious and not to mention insensitive. He leaned down and picked […]

The bird-watcher, Rex, as he had introduced himself later, had a modest cottage of his own just by the sea-shore to which he had carried the inebriated Reeta this early morning around 4:30 AM. He laid before her a generous brunch – sweet potato pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, scrambled eggs, fruit salad, an assortment of […]

The car was literally going out of control. It was a new car, bought a week before and the boy had brought it to the pub for a show off to his friends. He had never expected to be in such a situation. He wanted to quickly get rid of this woman to save himself […]

The boy was about to snatch the bottle from the lady’s shaky hands, but was interrupted by his ear-piercing phone call. He immediately reached for his phone and answered the call. The boy was alert not to get into any sort of mess with this drunk lady. So he tilted towards the edge of the […]

As the constable approached and was almost at a one hand distance she sprayed the colour in her hand which she was shaking vehemently as if she was ready dampening the clothes of the constable and leaving him baffled, fuming vigorously, determined on catching this miscreant. She dodged him as if she had a spring […]

She stood there, can in hand, head reeling as though she were drunk. Am I drunk? She tried counting the shots she had downed since she entered the pub. 11, 12… 15? She wasn’t sure. But she wasn’t drunk, she was sure. Excited, maybe. Yeah… excited. That’s more like it! She knew she couldn’t get drunk, even if […]

A lot has been spoken about men not being allowed to cry, gender bias related to it and many other things. I personally feel that even though there could be a social pressure on men for not shedding tears, it is more of a choice and poise of the man. How do we define crying? […]

This famous toothpaste ad pops up onto my children’s favourite channel frequently. It’s an ad where some boys are playing football and a girl comes in. One of the boy says- “Ladki hai, chot lagegi to rone lagegi” (She’s a girl, if she gets hurt, she will cry) . If any of those 7-10 year […]

A day such as International Men’s Day makes us stop on our steps and give a deep thought to men. Women do need that extra bit of attention because all the world over, be it in developed or developing nations, they are the oppressed lot – in different but many ways. However, men are calling […]

well … i get a different impression from the blogs all over the place … everyone rights about women empowerment and their rights. It is as if men don’t already know about it … and why is that women support this effort ? Perhaps a subject with no fresh inputs … would like to hear more about other things such as spiritual, cultural and social issues … Not for you but in general ..

Sir, I agree with you and that’s the reason I normally don’t write attacking a particular gender. I write on diverse issues. My last post ” Wife or WiFi” it’s just a humorous take nothing too harsh.

Of course not sir, thank you for sharing your insight. Would you mind if I request you to read this article : https://world4womencom.wordpress.com/2016/05/12/gender-equality-mens-perspective/
I am really grateful to you for sharing your thoughts with me on this platform.

Your article is good but not readable because it does not separate out the ideas in paragraphs. Writing a blog needs further study of composition and grammar.
So I read it but could not get my ideas in the mind elucidated or retain them.
Therefore I recommend that you first convert this article to a readable format.
And read about the Indian Law that states about dowry and domestic violence. There are male groups already questioning the law because it if heavily oriented towards females. They held demonstrations in Delhi a while ago.
Still the situation continues …
And what do you say about the exploitation by girls in marriage when they cause tremendous pain for the male.
These days men are worried and afraid of the girls and so are the girls for males .. for marriage
